With more than 15 years of experience, Lama leads Partners for Social Impact — helping nonprofits, foundations, and government agencies leverage research and evaluation to deepen social impact. Known for her relationship-centered approach, she brings rigorous methods, participatory practices, and community expertise together. She is an expert facilitator, trainer, and member of the ACE Evaluation Network.

Andrew Martinez
PhD, MSW
A Senior Researcher at Partners for Social Impact and a bilingual scholar-practitioner specializing in research, evaluation, and systems improvement. He partners with organizations to generate actionable insights that strengthen programs, inform decision-making, and improve outcomes for youth, families, and communities. With more than 15 years of experience leading complex evaluations and applied research at local, state, and national levels, he has worked extensively with government agencies, school districts, community-based organizations, and philanthropic foundations to assess program effectiveness and drive systems change. His areas of expertise include restorative practices, school climate and safety, school discipline reform, juvenile and criminal justice, prosecutorial reform, conditions of confinement, and firearm violence prevention. He led the most comprehensive study of youth who carry illegal firearms in New York City. Drawing on his bilingual and bicultural background, Dr. Martinez brings extensive experience in culturally responsive research and evaluation. He has authored more than 30 peer-reviewed publications and serves on the APA Task Force on Violence Against Educators and School Personnel. He holds a Ph.D. in Community Psychology and a Master of Social Work degree.

A survey specialist with more than 25 years of experience, Betsy designs mixed-method studies across nutrition assistance, workforce development, and justice. She led large-scale federal research at Mathematica for USDA, HHS, DOL, and DHS. Bilingual in English and Spanish, she brings a culturally responsive lens to engaging diverse and underserved communities. Based in New Jersey.
